Little Bookworm

I know...I'm VERY behind!! I think February was just 1 day long! It CAN'T really be March! I have lots to update so just be patient with me...aka...the slacker!

One of her favorite things to do is read from her books! She already has so many I don't know what we are going to do with all of them. Our shelves next to the fireplace are now dedicated to her own little library. She absolutely loves to sit with a book! It amazes me everytime she walks to those books and chooses one. Then she will sit by herself and talk up a storm while turning pages and pointing to pictures. The cutest is when she takes it to her little chair, climbs up, and gets comfy before opening up the book. She's like a little adult. Or she will bring the book to us and want to sit in our laps while we turn the pages and point together! I have to say...it's one of my favorite things to do with her.

My New Straw Sippy Cup

As most of you know....we can't seem to break Kadence of her bottle for even juice! I think I have every sippy cup that has ever been made in my cabinet, and she won't take to any of them. She recently learned to drink from a straw so I thought, hey, what the heck...why not 1 more cup to add to the stash!! And she LOVES it! I think we may finally have a winner!! Keep your fingers crossed!!

My Busy Daddy

This was a fire in a neighboring city that Jason's ladder company was sent to aid. The fire resulted from the homeowner starting a wood fire in a gas burning fireplace!!! Duh! They weren't able to put it out because there wasn't enough water supply coming from the hydrants to run all the equipment they needed. Can you imagine!

This started as a grass fire in the backyard as a result of kids playing with fireworks. The kids didn't report the fire to any adults in the house. So the fire consumed the entire backyard, the fence, up the side of the house and into the attic, as well as the side of their neighbors house!

Ice Anyone???

We have been VERY lucky during this storm!! We have had power except for about 5 hours Tuesday night...between about 11:00 and 4:00. During that time we had the generator hooked up to the heater so the temperature never dropped inside the house. Kadence was asleep the whole time so she never knew what was going on.

Here are some pictures and a quick video of the ice damage to our trees. I haven't been out yet but the news footage doesn't paint a pretty picture of the area. I don't think anyone will have much shade for summer!
