Adventures on the Lake

We finally took Kadence out on the boat last Wednesday for her first ride! She absolutely loved the wind blowing in her face! She was making the cutest faces as we rode down the lake. We stopped in a cove to have lunch and play for awhile. Jason tried to get her in the water and she wasn't having any part of that! The water is still too cold for her. Her toes were as far as she got before the wailing started! So, back in the boat she went. But don't we all do that when the water's cold?? As we were driving back to the marina she fell asleep. We have better video than pictures but I still haven't figured out how to post videos. She did really well with the life jacket. We were so proud of our sweet baby girl!





The biggest challenge was putting the boat in and getting it back on the trailer. Jason backed the trailer to the ramp for me so I only had a few feet to back up on my own.....I still had issues. So then we had to get the boat back on the trailer...more issues! I've never backed a trailer or driven a boat!!! Jason left me and Kadence (who was sleeping in my arms) in the boat...not anchored may I add...and he went to get the truck...I'm holding a baby and freaking out...he backs the trailer into the water then runs back to the boat....CAN YOU PICTURE THIS???
But you'll be happy to know that we went back out on Saturday, and I put the boat on the trailer! Of course not without having a complete breakdown!! Remember my previous statement about not ever driving a boat.....Jason gave me about a 2 minute lesson and then I was on my own! I took him to the ramp, he jumped off, uh-oh...what did he just tell me to do??? After almost throwing up and on the verge of tears, the boat is on the trailer again safe and sound...and I need a stiff drink!

Daddy---My Hero

We went to see Jason at work today. They were at Walmart showing the ladder truck and the smoke trailer to families for a few hours. He had to wear his nice shirt and badge...no t-shirt or shorts! Ummm...did the big boss man not know it's 90 degrees!!! So we took him some water and a snack...and a few kisses!




It was fun to see him, but let me say...this was a reminder of why I never go to Walmart (or shopping) on the weekends!!!! I love not working and having the luxury of going on weekday mornings when the rest of the world is at work! The stores are so much more pleasant...mostly just mommies and babies!

As long as there is a constant breeze Miss Priss is VERY happy and excited to be outside. If there's no wind....she lasts about 2 seconds!! She's had her Daddy's body temperature from day 1. I'll be freezing and the two of them will be sweating! Go figure!

Ok, so this probably wasn't a very healthy snack but she survived the experience!!! Jason and I were eating lunch on the floor and here came Kadence crawling right up to my plate. At first she grabbed my plate and started sucking/chewing on the rim. She didn't really notice the cheeto until I held it up to her mouth for a little taste. Then she let go of the plate and raced for the cheeto. And as you can see from the pictures she likes mommy's favorite "healthy" and "organic" snack!

Hey...I've had a baby...don't you know pregnancy causes "MOMNESIA!" Think, think, think.........
I would have just finished my freshman year at the U of A, moved out of my dorm back home to good ol' Siloam Springs, and was working at Franklin. Good Times!

2.What are 5 things on your to-do list today?
Feed Kadence, change her dirty diapers, play peek-a-boo, sing lullabies, and maybe brush my teeth!

3.What are some snacks you enjoy?
milk, apple juice, rice cereal, sweet potatoes, bananas....oh, you mean for me????? How about anything in the pantry!! Cheez-Its or Cheetos are probably my favs.

4.What would you do if you were a billionaire?
Ya right!!!!!! Next question!

5.What are 3 of your bad habits?
Me? Bad habits? No!!!!
I watch way too much TV, can't resist cute clothes for Kadence, and bite my cuticals.

Ummmmm, let's see. Babysitter (does that actually count?), Franklin Electric (fabulous factory work on my summer's off from college), Dillards (men's clothing....no comments needed), JCPenney (cosmetics and perfume), 1st grade teacher, and Mommy!!!

What to Expect When You're Expecting, The Choice by Nicholas Sparks (my most favorite author ever who has a new book coming out soon FYI), Swapping Lives by Jane Green, Baby Proof by Emily Giffin, Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child (borrowed from a friend and it has saved my life!), and I'm currently reading Little Lady, Big Apple by Hester Browne.

I went to get her from her morning nap and this is what I walked into!!!! She looks more like a jail bird trying to escape!!!! "Mom, get me outa here!" I think it's time to lower the crib mattress.

Goofy Girl

What can I say....she takes after both of us when it comes to her silly faces and playfulness! She is so much fun at this stage! She LOVES playing with anything that you give her! Her laugh is starting to come more and more out of its shell. If she can't roll to what she wants then she has started to "scoot-crawl." Peek-a-boo is becoming a favorite. I can't believe my baby girl is alomst 8 months old already! I thought I said I wasn't going to blink anymore!
