9 Months Old

Being 9 months old is tough but somebody's gotta do it!!!!


Still "army" crawling...I'm convinced this is what she will do until she learns to walk! She is pulling up more, mainly in her crib and on us when we are laying on the floor with her. Still eating the same foods, haven't really tried anything new. She likes the Gerber biscuits and toasts, but we have to really watch her so she doesn't choke. We have talked about putting her "big girl" car seat in the car, but can't bring ourselves to even try her in it in the house! She is definitely about to outgrow the "baby" car seat so I'll keep you updated on when we finally breakdown and try it. I can't believe I'll be planning a birthday soon!! Where does the time go????

Hide & Seek

Our new game!! You can hear her "sprinting" across the floor to come find me! When she gets to the blanket she giggles and pats me as if saying, "Mommy, I found you!" When I cover her up she does a "snorting" sound until I take the blanket off! Then it becomes a game of peek-a-boo.

Am I a Toddler Yet?

We have yet another milestone to announce....Kadence can officially go from her tummy to sitting back up again!!!!! She started about a week ago, but she would only do it like once a day. Well, it's gone from that to all the time in just a few short days. Once she finally accomplishes something it doesn't take her long to master it. So now she's wanting to pull up on everything. And just this morning she was on the couch and stood up all by herself using the arm rest!!! We have kind of "baby proofed" the house, but I predict some more "proofing" this evening. Jason is in the process of lowering her crib mattress. We've been putting it off as long as we could. Our baby girl is growing up way too fast! A few more tears but mostly smiles as we watch her develop into a toddler!

Pooh Fanatic

We've got a pooh-addict amongst us!!! She is still absolutely in love with My Friends Tigger and Pooh on Disney. She becomes glued to the television when it's on. She sometimes will crawl right up to the entertainment center, lay on her back, and then rest her feet on the bottom doors. It doesn't matter what she's doing...as soon as she hears a character talking or the theme song...she'll stop and watch! It's adorable! But then I feel guilty about letting my baby watch tv...oh well! Everyone needs a little bit of Pooh and Tigger in their lives!!

Happy Birthday, America!!

We had a busy yet restful holiday weekend with friends and family! Kadence's bedtime is before dark so she didn't get to participate in the fireworks this year. She slept through the whole thing!! I was so nervous that the noise would wake her up, but she never made a sound! I was SO thankful!!

8 Months Old

Ok...so she's really about 8 1/2 months old, but I'm just getting to sit and write about what's new in the life of Kadence Mae. She has now mastered the "army" crawl. She occasionally will get on all fours and rock, but no moving. She rode in the front of a shopping cart for the first time last week! Of course we had the nifty cart cover on before we put her in it. Jason didn't like it very much! We are both having a hard time letting her be a big girl. She is just now starting to be a little explorer. She'll try to follow us to other rooms in the house now. And she has finally ventured off the carpet and onto the tile and dining room rug. She has also mastered how to get from a sitting position to her tummy to crawl. She is trying so hard to figure out how to go from crawling to sitting back up again. She hasn't learned how to pull herself up on things, but definitely likes to have help standing up. I guess those extra inches added when standing up make her feel like a big girl. She is also starting to get small bites of adult food....mostly just licks because she's having trouble learning to chew!! I guess that will come with time just like everything else. She's still taking about 3 naps a day and sleeping through the night!!!! We have been blessed in so many ways! I thank God each and every single day for sending us the most precious little angel He created just for us!
